Selkie House is an organization being created in the Akron, Ohio area to offer women a supportive, community-centered place to live while they build stability, connection, purpose, and independence. It is currently in development.

Selkie House homes are in the Akron area of Northeast Ohio. We do not publish specific addresses.

Selkie House is being created for women who are rebuilding their day-to-day lives and want to do that in a stable, respectful, community-oriented home. Specific criteria will be published once the program and the applicable accreditation requirements are complete.

Selkie House is currently in development and is working through the applicable Ohio recovery-housing accreditation and certification requirements. Women are already living in Selkie House homes while that work continues. Selkie House is not able to accept referrals while certification is in progress.

We are not announcing an opening date yet. Doing the organizational, property, and accreditation work properly matters more to us than moving quickly, and we would rather share a date we can keep. Join our interest list and you will hear as soon as we have one.
